Among the 16 beaches proposed by the magazine, the finalists were Illetes in Formentera, which was the winner, and Las Catedrales Beach in Ribadeo (Lugo), which came in second place.
The third position was for the Playa de las Catedrales in Llanes, Asturias and the fourth for the Playa de Cofete in Fuerteventura.
Other candidates have seven beaches such as the "silence" in Asturias, the Macarella and Macarelleta coves in Menorca and Aiguablava on the Costa Brava.
